My dad does these Nativity scenes since I have memory, and by now they have reached crazy big dimensions. And now it’s about time to move to the next level, i.e. a real art show. So, on this very special occasion, we are lifting a 5x 5x 5 alpine village on the trunk of a pick up to re-create a typical winter night under the sky of the Italian Alps. Black lights and handcrafted home lights deliver all the magic and bring back those childhood memories you thought you’d never experience again.

Venice Art Crawl with the Venice Whaler present:
an art show featuring photography by Hassan Said
First premiered at an exhibition at the De Young Museum in San Francisco and showcasing in Los Angeles for the first time in the photographers current home – Venice beach.
Hassan Said is a tri-lingual, award winning filmmaker/photographer. His photo work has been exhibited at De Young Museum, Berkley University, San Francisco State University amongst some. In his films, Said concentrates on the characters that slip in and out of people’s lives unnoticed and uncared for, and highlight their fears as well as their significance. Said tackles many controversial subjects. He incorporates various techniques to expose realistic and sometimes disturbing situations. His frequent use of dark sets, hand-held camera method, and non-linear storytelling create settings where the truths discovered can be harsh and/or healing.

Debbi Singer is a local restaurant owner turned artist. When she was diagnosed with Cancer she knew she couldn’t let the darkness consume her. Rather she actively sought out the light. Filling her home and head with positive affirmations accompanied by colorful imagery was the driving force to her healing. She has now been Cancer free for over five years. As co-owner of the C&O Restaurants that make their guests happy everyday, she would love to use her art as another vehicle to spread happiness.
Her overall passion and vigor for life inspired her to start playing with paint, doing so with bright colors. Most of her pieces are done in Acrylic, though she loves to experiment with Mixed Media, often introducing oil pastels and everyday findings .
This is the debut of her AffirmSHEart Collection. These pieces are about Gratitude, Love, Friendship, and healing of the heart, body and mind. 100% of the proceeds of her paintings sold will be going to the Ovarian Cancer Circle and the TLC Shelter for battered Women. These are two of the causes Debbi feels strongly about. Thank you.
